Robert is by far most proud of his 4 children as he parents them as a single dad & always keeps in mind what is most important to him in life, his KIDS! Through the course of a 33 year career in entertainment & public speaking, Robert has delivered over 250 Keynote Speeches, Performed in Costume at 2,000+ Games, 8,000+ appearances. In February, 2022 Robert became a REALTOR® while spending 3 years as the CMO & SVP of Sales of Spear Minerals marketing & selling Real Property Subsurface Minerals Rights & selling out a $3.6M portfolio. As a REALTOR® for JLA Brokerage he sells & buys residential houses for individuals & is partnered with Evermark for Commercial Real Estate needs. In his 1st 9 months he completed 5 transactions for $1.5 Million+ while the average Realtor doesn’t get their 1st client until that long.
For over two decades Robert Boudwin was better known as Houston Rockets mascot “Clutch the Bear,” which was a character he created in 1995 & soley portrayed until 2016.

For over two decades, Robert Boudwin was better known as Houston Rockets mascot, “Clutch the Bear,” which was a character he created in 1995. In addition to performing at over 1.5K games and 6K shows for the Rockets across the world in 12 countries, he served as a content creator in the engagement economy, helping to build the Rockets brand through in-game experience, event planning & management, grassroots marketing initiatives, community investment projects, creating an online presence and social media strategies widely being recognized as the creative driving force behind the entire Rockets In-Game Experience & Marketing Efforts for over two decades. He was a producer/performer of popular school shows reaching over 1.3 million elementary students at over 2,300 shows, as well as producing and directing Armed Forces Entertainment Tours military bases in Bosnia, Kosovo & England. He has written seven children’s books, with over half a million in circulation, and provided them to Houston youth for free at school shows, appearances, and games. He has short stories published in two other books, written about & featured in three other books, but in the fall of 2024 he penned a full length book titled The Extraordinary Life Of An Ordinary Man — Mascots, Marathons & Mayhem — Twins, Transplants & Tattoos on sale at MascotAuthor.com. He was inducted into the Mascot Hall Of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 2006, was the first ever NBA Mascot of the Year in 2005 & was bestowed the NBA Mascot Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024. Robert is thought to have hugged more Houstonians than anyone on Earth. In 2025 he was a featured competitor & cast member on Fox’s 99 To Beat airing Wednesday nights beginning 9/24/25.
Being a prolific public speaker with 250+ talks & part-time consultant since 1995 & to this day, in the summer of 2016, Robert opened his own Consulting Practice with Amazon, MENSA, TEDx, XFL, NCAA, NBA, Chick-Fil-A, Methodist Hospital, Memorial Hermann Hospital, Menchies Frozen Yogurt, HoustonOnTheCheap.com, Rice University, University of Houston, University of Delaware, Sam Houston State, Sam Houston Race Park being some of his higher profile clients. Like many in the event business, the Pandemic brought a career pivot to Spear Mineral (2020-2023) CMO & Residential Realtor (2021-Present) with JLA Brokerage specializing all over the Greater Houston area Producing in the TOP 10% Nationwide & Texas awarded as such in 2024 & 2025. He is now with JLA as a full time Realtor while delivering roughly 20 Keynote Speeches yearly. He is a graduate of Leadership Houston Class 36 in 2018. He was also known as the biggest pain in the ass by his 6th-grade teachers.
Philanthropically, he is best known for his work with organ donation awareness, having run the Houston Half Marathon twice in the full Clutch mascot costume promoting the cause that saved his father Paul’s life, and has served on the Corporate Board of Directors for Life Gift 2014-2022 and The Todd Kramptiz Foundation 2014-2024. He also served for the United Way of Greater Houston for over 10 years and was in a leadership role as the Young Leader Council Chair for 2 years, helping Houston’s underserved city-wide.
